Chris Parker is British, he graduated from York University and gained an MA from The Medical Research Council Applied Psychology Unit, Sheffield University. He is a practising Chartered Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society.
From 1986 to 1996 he was Professor of Organizational Behaviour at IMEDE and its successor IMD, The International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. At IMD Chris was the Director of a number of programs, including the ten week Program for Executive Development. Chris also designed and developed one of IMD’s most successful programs, Mobilizing People, which he ran from 1987 to 1995. Prior to IMD, Chris worked as a Senior Lecturer at Cranfield School of Management UK, where, as Director of In Company Programs, he created and conducted management development programs for an extensive range of international manufacturing and service companies.
His areas of special interest are Leadership, Management of Change, Strategy Implementation, Organizational Culture and Team Building as well as facilitating the change of behaviour in individuals and teams. He has written articles and cases in the area of change and implementation. He is personal coach to a number of CEOs in large multi-nationals. He is the co-author of “Engaging Leadership”, published in April 2009 by Palgrave/MacMillan
Chris has taught and coached managerial behaviour, personal development, team building, leadership and effective organizational processes in hundreds of executive development programs and consults in these areas for major corporations. Past and current assignments include ABN-AMRO, BASF, Ericsson, Honeywell, DSM, IBM, Oracle, Andersen Consulting, Telia, Kodak, Uponor, Nokia Mobile Phones, Diageo, Whitbread, Alan Bradley, Nestlé, Novartis, UBS, ING Barings, Schroeders and Freshfields, Bruckhaus & Deringer.
Consulting assignments range from Strategy Implementation to Board facilitation and feedback and Personal Development of Senior Executives.
He is currently operating as an independent professor and consultant (His consulting company Mobilizing Teams International is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Chris is married to Maureen and has two sons.
