Stephen is an accomplished consultant engaged in aligning the strategic, behavioural and emotional aspects of business in order to accelerate and sustain performance. During his career he has established a strong reputation for his highly professional and pragmatic approach. Stephen has worked with a wide range of clients, Public and Private, helping them to adapt to change and develop their people. His work involves the coaching and support of Executive teams in order to define strategy and develop and role model the leadership behaviours which support and enhance the strategy. His commitment and passion for change is underpinned by the firm belief that people are the true differentiator in modern business. Using a collaborative approach with clients and their key stakeholders Stephen enables clients to meet the needs of the business.
Most of his current projects deal with reconciling the three key agendas in organizations: Providing Clarity and Engagement on the Strategic/Business Agenda, through large scale Mass Engagement Processes, developing value building Leadership Styles through the appropriate Behavioural Agenda and ensuring Motivation, Passion and sustainable Performance through the building of a shared Emotional Agenda.
His recent work (past three years) has been with firms such as Nokia ; Skanska; KPMG llp ; KPMG-Meijburg ; The Arts Council UK ; SHV ; Merrill Lynch ; United Utilities and Oracle.
Stephen holds a B.A. (Honours) and P.G.C.E and developed his interest in the impact of the behavioural and emotional agenda on performance during his time as a survival specialist and then as a disaster manager where the ability to lead a team and deliver exemplary results during extreme uncertainty were critical success criteria. His move into consultancy was by way of KPMG’s Change Management Practice. In addition to his consultancy work Stephen is also an experienced behavioural assessor who designs and delivers assessment and development centres. He is Level A and B qualified with the British Psychological Society and qualified in a variety of interview techniques.
Stephen works hard to maintain his ambition of a work life balance. When not working on assignments he spends his time walking and riding his mountain bikes over the Pennine Moors in the North of England and spending time with his family.
